Danielle Campbell (Prison Break) is the latest new regular cast in the potential Vampire Diaries spinoff The Originals, which will be introduced in the April 25 episode of the CW drama. Written by TVD co-creator/executive producer Julie Plec, The Originals centers on the Original family of vampires, as Klaus (Joseph Morgan) returns to the supernatural melting pot that is the French Quarter of New Orleans — a town he helped build centuries ago — and is reunited with his diabolical former protégé Marcel (Charles Michael Davis). Campbell, repped by CESD and Evolution, will play Davina, a young witch who has been over-sheltered by her protective caregivers.
Danielle Campbell gives a tearful testimony in this exclusive clip from her appearance on Lifetime’s Drop Dead Diva, airing this weekend.
“I play kind of an edgy girl on the show,” the 18-year-old actress recently dished to JJJ. “She buys drugs and ends up getting into a lot of trouble. So keep your eye out for that.”
In the episode, “Family Matters,” Danielle plays Carla, a young girl whose friend is in a coma after taking ecstasy at a rave.
Jane (Brooke Elliott) represents the mother of a teen girl who was placed on life support after attending a rave. Meanwhile, Grayson (Jackson Hurst) and Kim (Kate Levering) take a case involving a gay sperm donor; and Teri (Margaret Cho) and Luke (Carter MacIntyre) pretend to be Jane and Owen (Lex Medlin) at a wedding-menu tasting with a celebrity caterer.
Danielle Campbell has already made some strides in her acting career. You may recognize her from last year’s ‘Prom,’ and you’ll definitely want to check her out in the upcoming Tyler Perry comedy, ‘Madea’s Witness Protection.’ We got the opportunity to talk with Danielle about her role in the movie and her career. Check out what she had to say!
Fanlala: Can you tell us about your character in Madea’s Witness Protection? Danielle Campbell: I play Cindy who comes from a very well-to-do family. She’s very spoiled and self-centered, and she doesn’t appreciate anything her step-mom or step-brother does for her. All in all, she’s kind of a brat. But once Madea, who is played by Tyler Perry, starts protecting the family, she really starts teaching the meaning of family togetherness.
F: You’ve played a variety of characters, from your roles in Prison Break to Prom to Witness Protection. What makes your character Cindy different from anything you’ve ever done?
DC: Each character that I’ve played has had a different spin on them. There are different productions which means each character needs a different feel. Cindy has a lot of depth; she’s dealing with a lot of things. I had to put myself in the position of leaving my home and friends behind. It had to think what it would be like if I was unable to talk to anyone.
F: We read that you were discovered in a hair salon of all places, can you tell us a bit more about that experience?
DC: Ah yes, I was about ten years old when it happened, and my mom and I were in the city taking a girls’ day. I was very outgoing when I was younger, I loved to talk to people. So I was chatting it up, and someone approached my mom. They said that they would call us and set up a meeting. We got a phone call the next day, and had a great meeting with the agent. Everything took off from there, and it’s been amazing ever since! (more…)
Kidzworld: Had you been familiar with the Madea character or those movies before? DC: I have seen every single one of them. I grew up with these movies. They’re so good, funny and with a good message. They’re just great all-around movies. I love them.
Kidzworld: So tell me about your character Cindy and does Madea do her funny “tough love” on her? DC: Yes! Cindy, when you come into this movie, she’s very spoiled and very self-centered. Her family in general is mis-functioning. Nobody is really together. Cindy strongly dislikes her stepmother (Denise Richards) and half brother. The whole family doesn’t get along very well. When they go to Madea’s house in the witness protection program, she ends up whipping the whole family into shape. They have to realize that family is the most important thing. Madea has her own special way of doing that, her own message. But, it works.
Kidzworld: Witness protection means new identities and leaving your old life behind because you saw a crime, right? DC: Yeah and for any family or person this would be a very hard situation to walk into; not being able to see your friends or talk to anybody but Madea brings it all together. (more…)

The stars of Disney’s PROM talked to KidzWorld.com about planning the perfect party. Danielle gave us a helpful tip, take your time with makeup. You can read it below.
PARTY ON! Want to throw the perfect party? What’s the ultimate playlist? What food should be served? And how do you get your buddies on the dance floor? We asked the cast of PROM to share their party secrets! Follow their advice and you’ll be hosting the best bash ever.
TIP SEVEN: DANIELLE CAMPBELL SAYS… TAKE YOUR TIME WITH MAKEUP!
“When it comes to party makeup, take your time. Look at the color of your dress and adapt your makeup to suit it. If your dress is a really bright color, then you probably don’t want to go super bright on your face. However, if you have a pale dress or a black dress, then you can go a little brighter with your makeup. Maybe go for a dazzling lip color and add some shimmer on your cheeks – but don’t overdo it. Look in the mirror before you head out to the party and make sure you like what you see.”
IMDB has released the official storyline for Danielle’s upcoming movie 16 South, which is expected to be released in 2013! Danielle will star as Katie Baker, an eighteen year old girl who falls in love with Daniel, the son of her father’s greatest nemesis. Read the synopsis below.
In the late 1800’s and well into the twentieth century, many farmers and ranchers in Texas lost their homes and land to the more powerful landowner. Families were threatened, mercilessly burned from their homes, and in some instances, killed for the small piece of land they owned. This is the story of two men who spend their entire lives feuding over a tragic incident they both witnessed as young boys. George Baker (Randy Travis) is a man who has witnessed the horror of losing his family at the hands of a brutal killer, John Champion. Throughout his life, he must also put up with the humiliation of being thought of as cowardly and spinless, because he can’t retaliate in order to keep his family safe from harm. To complicate matters, his daughter Katie (Danielle Campbell) is in love with Daniel, the son of his nemesis. Spanning several generations of two families, it is an unforgettable story of evil and hatred paralleling a story of devoted love and undeniable passion.
